About  Me

Andrea McAlpine was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She lived in Reno, Nevada with her two children, a now 16 year old daughter, Kenidee, and an almost 13 year old son, Peyton, from 2005 until 2012. While living in Reno, Andrea came up with the idea to write her first novel, There's NO Crying Allowed in Life.

'I was driving to work, listening to a song by one of my favorite artists, Heather Combs, when the idea came to me. The song dealt with letting go of the one you love, being more invested in a relationship than the one your with, and doing things in the name of love that you wouldn't normally do. I had so many questions about this "couple" and I just HAD to write their story. It sounded so close to many of my own relationships and those of my friends.'

Over the years, Andrea McAlpine has won a handful of awards for her writing and was featured in the Who's Who of American Writers publication. She grew up as a child with an over-active imagination and an often too-large for life love of writing and reading. She currently resides in Mesa, Arizona with her mother, Jana, and two children. She credits her grandfather, Donald Zeeff, and mother for exciting this passion for writing in her and allowing her to explore her imagination freely as a child.

Andrea is currently working on writing a new book, Life Altered, that focuses on a man building a relationship with the daughter he never knew existed and discovering the strength and love in himself.
